At Cook Inlet Native Head Start (CINHS), we recognize every child brings his or her own unique strengths and needs to the learning process. CINHS works collaboratively with families of children with special needs and our community partners to create a supportive, developmentally appropriate learning environment in which all children can grow and learn.
Every child enrolled with CINHS receives developmental and social-emotional screenings, ongoing assessment and, as appropriate, referral for further specialized assessment and/or services.
Currently, more than 15% of children enrolled with CINHS receive special services through an Anchorage School District Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or a Programs for Infants and Children Individualized Family Services Plan (IFSP).
If you'd like more information, please contact CINHS Special Needs Manager, Rebecca Wilson, at (907) 433-1600 or by email at RWilson@cinhs.net.
